The Vols will take on top-ranked Kentucky Tuesday night in Lexington.
And though the odds seem to favor the Wildcats, history shows the Vols have a chance for the upset. In the team's last three meetings with opponents ranked number one, the Vols pulled out a victory.
In the last meeting between Tennessee and Kentucky, on January 14 at Thompson-Boling Arena, the Vols came close to a win, with the Wildcats surging at the end for a 65-62 win. That was freshman Jarnell Stokes debut with the Vols. Kentucky was ranked second at the time.
Tennessee Head Coach Cuonzo Martin says his team has improved since that loss, and he's looking for the win Tuesday night.
However, it's tough to win in Rupp Arena. The Wildcats lead the series 85-16 when the game is Lexington. The margin is closer when the game is played in Knoxville, but Kentucky still has the edge with a 51-46 record.
The game will be televised on ESPNU.
