For the first time in the Daytona 500's history, the race has been postponed an entire day.

Heavy rain had Knoxville NASCAR fans waiting all day to watch the race that never happened.

Fans packed restaurants and a special movie theatre showing at Regal West Town Mall.

Many came out to support Knoxville native and last year's winner, Trevor Bayne.

"I had never heard of Trevor Bayne before Daytona [last year]. Then to find out he's a hometown boy, I was one of the first ones to jump on the bandwagon then," said Danny Grissom, who wore his Bayne t-shirt to the movie theatre showing.

He hopes Bayne's success continues.

"I'd like to see him right back up to victory again because he's such a good Christian boy. It'd be nice to see good things happen to him," Grissom said.

The Daytona 500 will air on Fox 43 WTNZ at noon Monday.
