A spokesman with the Knoxville Police Department says they have identified 18-year-old Jevon Montrel Sturdivant from Chattanooga as the deceased man found behind a house in east Knoxville.
He was shot according to a press release. The medical examiner will be conducting an autopsy Thursday.
Police are continuing to investigate the death.

The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after someone found a dead body behind a house in East Knoxville.
According to KPD spokesperson Darrell DeBusk, the body of the man was found in an alley near the intersection of Ashland Avenue and Andes Street, just after 4 PM on Wednesday.
Investigators believe the man may have been shot, and are calling the death "suspicious."
