Escaped inmates captured in Cocke Co.

A Tennessee Department of Corrections spokeswoman says agents have captured two men who escaped a facility in Carter County Thursday.

Jennings is serving a 29-year sentence for robbery and burglary charges out of Blount County. He would have completed his sentenced in December of 2012. Officials said Jennings is 6"2' and weighs 155 pounds.

Layne is serving a 40 year sentence for aggravated assault and evading arrest charges out of Sequatchie County. Officials said he is 5"10' and weighs around 169 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Officials said Layne would have had a parole hearing in November 2012.

Two inmates, one with a Blount County connection, have escaped from a Carter County jail. 

According to the Tennessee Department of Corrections, 38-year-old Robert Wayne Jennings and 40-year-old Troy Layne escaped from the Carter County Annex by foot on Thursday.

Jennings is serving a 29-year sentence for robbery and burglary charges out of Blount County. He would have completed his sentenced in December of 2012. Officials said Jennings is 6"2' and weighs 155 pounds.
